The Human War: Film Update

(Above: Noah Cicero, New York City, 2009)

We're finally becoming good salesmen! Who knows? It's either that, or we're suddenly hot right now. I have no idea. In either case, investors are definitely showing interest in funding THE HUMAN WAR movie. That means, I'll be heading to L.A. in August. We'll probably shoot as early as December 2009, or rock it in April 2010. It really depends on how fast we get people aboard this train.

And it's moving fast! I didn't expect to have everything to come together so soon, but I just kept pushing past doubts and throwing out lines. I guess that's been the secret.

I'm just so thankful that this film will get made. It's going to rock in the future. I can see it. It's in a little cradle. It's being kept warm and clean. The mobile is twirling. There we all are. Proud parents: Noah, Thomas, and I.

Rhinos Are in Danger of Obliteration

Rhinos are in danger of obliteration.

Yesterday, I spoke to a man who worked at Staples.

"Hey, friend," he said.

"Hey," I said. "How are you?"

"Not good," he said.

"What's wrong?"

"Long day. I already played golf this morning. Then I had to put on the monkey suit and come here."

"I hear you."

"I have to go take care of my 83 year old friend after work."

"That's nice of you."

"I sold my house. I'm moving."

"Why did you do that?"
"I'm moving to Ohio."

"Youngstown?"

"It's funny you should say that. My family is from Boardman. No, I'm moving more north--near Colombus."

"Why?"

"I'm getting older now. I want to see the grandkids more than twice a year. I feel like I'd miss too much if I weren't closer."

"Looks like it all worked out."

"Let me see that," he says and turns my arm around to look at my tattoos. "Mmmm."

He rolls up his sleeves to show me a rhinoceros tattoo on his shoulder.

"A rhino," I said.

"Yes," he said. "I am crazy like one. Sometimes, that's what they say."

I collect my bags. "I wish you the best with your trip."

"Thank you, friend."

Paiman Is Nominated for an Emmy!

My brother, Paiman, got nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Short Promo.

Send him your good wishes on his Facebook page.

He has also got a script under consideration by Sundance. Hopefully, he scores both in one year. : )

Grateful: I couldn't ask for a better birthday gift.

NASA Employee Ponders Universe

I work for NASA officially now.

That's a joke. I don't work for NASA. I just have on the tee shirt in the picture. I'm up right now. It's 4:37 a.m.. I've been up all night. Just trying to decide on where to move. It's too difficult. I feel like I can't make this decision.

I am stranded in my own indecision...

I think I'll make a painting. That always helps me when I'm stuck on something...

I suppose it has to do with this film. I want to finish it before I head off. It's still possible to make it with a trip back and forth between L.A. and Youngstown, but when is that going to be? How long can I stay in upstate NY?

I'm dying to be walking the streets of Los Angeles again. I suppose that's enough of a motivation. Who knows? I can't make the decision tonight.

I think I'll watch "A League of Their Own." I like it when Tom Hanks has to pee.

Other Tidbits:

1. My wife is nice.

2. My Dad and I came up with a tennis game where we dance if we lose the point. He wants me to film this.

3. I turn 33 next week.

Heading to Youngstown????

It looks like Sogee and I will be moving to Youngstown in August. I'm still talking it over with everyone involved, but this seems like a positive choice to bring budget costs down for the film and get things moving on every front.

Speaking of costs, we're still trying to raise 50,000 more dollars for the film. Right now we have openings for investors at the 2-5k level. Have you got an extra 2k in the bank? Would you like to invest in a film with heart? Would you like to root for the underdog? Give me a call and become part of the family.

We're bringing everyone in on this project. Now we just need a couple more investors to bring this thing to life. So do me a favor, if you don't have 2k, but you got a $100, then consider offering a donation. We could use all the help. Truly.
